Malopolska (Polish Anglo-Arabian) stallion Diokles as a star of Cian O’Connor’s stable

“For 2015 I feel I have one of the best team of horses that I have ever had! Without top horses we cannot stay at the top of our game so I’m extremely grateful to all the owners involved with these horses” – these are words of Cian O’Connor posted on his website, where under title “Meet the Stars” he describes five horses staying in his stable for training.

Cian O’Connor is a top Irish show jumping rider, bronze medallist of the Olympic Games in London. Beside participation in competitions in Europe, America and Asia, he’s engaged in consultancy, coaching and selecting jumping horses. Recently, he has bought a Malopolska (Polish Agnlo-Arab) stallion Diokles (Haracz m – Dida m / First des Termes AA) bred by Walewice State Stud. As a 4-years-old Diokles was bought by Andrzej Kubik and handed over to Andrzej Głoskowski for training in the stable “Agro-Aves” Gajewniki. Under this rider Diokles twice (as 4- and 5-year-old) won the Polish Championship for Young Horses in show jumping, and at the age of six years finished fourth, losing the bronze medal by 3 seconds in the jump-off.

cytatDiokles – Hard to pronounce so affectionately known as Doug! He’s a full Anglo-Arab thoroughbred stallion. He’s a beautiful looking type with a great temperament and a super jump. He’s only 8 yrs old but I feel will jump decent classes before the circuit is over in Florida and has the makings of a top class GP horse for the future

– we’re very glad reading these words spoken by the Olympic medallist.

Congratulations to the breeder, owner, rider and all those who have contributed to promote Polish horse breeding worldwide. We keep our fingers crossed for further sport and breeding career of Diokles, and his new rider!
